The problem with these acknowledgement pages is, you can never really acknowledge everybody that has had a hand in something, and you run the risk of leaving out somebody that really deserves recognition.

However, in this case, there are a few individuals that really deserve recognition for their part in the chattaladae saga.

First, Pravit Chattalada, for whom the forma has been named, generously allowed Dr. Grove to initially purchase the plant. Further, Pravit Chattalada encouraged Chinainthorn Tipakornkarn to make the sib cross, once the two cultivars were available to him.

Second, we must thank Chinainthorn Tipakornkarn for growing the plants well, making the f1 cross, and making a flask available to Dr. Grove. We would only have a very few pieces of a single cultivar in the US right now, if this f1 population had not been made.

We must also acknowledge Surapon Tangkitisup for recognizing the value of the second cultivar, 'Oun', and for making sure that it got into the hands of Chinainthorn, so it could be propagated.

Maynard Michel made a number of stem propagations of 'Pravit Chattalada', if he had not done so, we would not have as many pieces in the US as we do. I personally owe him thanks for allowing me to care for one of his plants of 'Pravit Chattalada' and to use it for propagation purposes.

And finally I would like to thank Dr. Grove for describing the forma, and for his generosity in making these seedlings from the f1 population available to so many serious Phalaenopsis growers and breeders in the US. I happen to know that in a few cases, while the deals were structured as "trades", Dr. Grove was essentially giving these plants away to people he thought would be capable of using them to advantage. Particularly those of us in the US owe Dr. Grove a debt of gratitude for bringing this forma into the US and distributing it.

I would also like to acknowledge Dr. Grove's generosity in making his article available to reprint here for the benefit of anybody that may have missed it.

Thank you very much gentlemen,
rob't
